37% of the UAE’s share of total international tourists in the Gulf

The UAE’s share of the total number of tourists in the GCC countries during the past year reached about 37%, as it is estimated that the UAE attracted about 23 million international tourists in 2023, while the total international tourists in the Gulf countries reached about 61.5 million tourists in 2023, according to data from the World Travel and Tourism Council and the World Tourism Organization.
The number of international tourists to the GCC last year rose 29 percent to 61.5 million compared to 47.7 million in 2022, according to data from the World Tourism Organization.
According to the Travel Council’s detailed report on tourism indicators for the UAE, published by the UAE newspaper Al Ittihad, the number of international tourists coming to the UAE by 2033 is expected to reach about 45.5 million tourists, with an expected spending volume of 195 billion dirhams, with an annual growth of 3.9%.
The National Tourism Strategy 2031 aims to attract tourism investments worth AED 100 billion and attract 40 million hotel guests by 2031.
