A report by the Chinese Academy of Tourism predicted that Chinese tourists will make more than 6 billion domestic travel trips in 2024, and that the total number of tourist arrivals and departures traveling internationally will exceed 260 million.
The newly released report, which includes a review of China’s tourism performance in 2023 and the outlook for 2024, highlights the remarkable recovery witnessed by the tourism sector in the past year.
The results of the figures in the report showed that domestic travel in China grew by more than 100% year-on-year in 2023 in both revenue and the number of tourists, recording a recovery of more than 80% from the level recorded in 2019.
