The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism at the World Travel Market in London

The World Travel Market 2023 is being held from November 6th to 8th this year in London. Oman is participating in the exhibition with a delegation from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The delegation is led by Azan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism.

Oman’s pavilion at this year’s edition of the exhibition features the participation of 26 tourism, hotel, and sector-related institutions. This includes the unit overseeing the implementation of Oman Vision 2040, the Oman Botanic Garden, Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran Group), Oman Airports Company, the national travel operator, various hotels, tourism companies, and small to medium-sized enterprises.

Azan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, stated that they have set their sights on achieving the strategic goals of Oman Vision 2040. These goals aim to increase the contribution of the tourism sector to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and enhance its ability to provide investment opportunities and jobs. He also emphasized the important role the sector plays in promoting the culture and heritage of the Sultanate of Oman.

Dr. Hashil bin Ubaid Al-Mahrooqi, the CEO of Omran Group, mentioned the significance of prestigious events like the World Travel Market for Oman’s ambitious journey in developing the tourism sector and enhancing its capabilities. He emphasized that this participation enhances their efforts in highlighting the essential components of Oman’s tourism sector and investment opportunities.

It’s worth noting that the current edition of the World Travel Market includes participation from over 400 exhibitors representing government institutions, companies, and organizations from more than 155 participating countries.
