In preparation for the UAE’s 52nd Union Day celebrations and to spread the joy and happiness of this cherished day among the people of the Emirates and residents, the streets of Abu Dhabi and its surroundings were adorned with thousands of flags and artistic formations.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality began installing decorative lighting formations, including lights and phrases that reinforce the values of patriotism, belonging, and loyalty to the wise leadership. These decorations emphasize the significance of the glorious day that unified the people of the UAE, establishing the greatest and most successful experience of unity in the Arab world.

The illuminated decorations include the installation of geometric shapes inspired by the national occasion and expressive of the joy of citizens and residents on this precious occasion. Simultaneously, they provide a beautiful and captivating view of the city and its surroundings to reflect the brilliance and beauty of this cherished occasion. The designs are carefully coordinated, considering the appropriate sizes for the dimensions and spaces of the streets, ensuring safety for road users, including motorists and pedestrians. Additionally, the materials used are environmentally friendly, of high-quality insulation, and resistant to weather conditions.

The decorations prominently feature the colors of the national flag, and the designs include phrases that express the strength and unity of the seven emirates. The designs blend verses of the national anthem with Islamic and modern geometric designs inspired by nature.

The municipality confirmed that the decorations cover Abu Dhabi city and its environs, including the Abu Dhabi Corniche, King Abdullah Street, Traffic Street, roundabouts, bridges, Sheikh Rashid Street extending to Airport Road, Sheikh Khalifa Street, in addition to new cities such as Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Khalifa City, Shakhbout City, Bani Yas City, Al Mafraq, Shahama City, and Al Samha City.

The municipality emphasizes sustainability and the reuse of decorative lighting. After the designated period for the decorations, they are dismantled and stored in dedicated warehouses for reuse in other national occasions.
