Dubai, December 7, 2023: Dnata, a leading global provider of aviation and travel services, has entered into a partnership with Batik Air to support the new route launched by the Malaysian carrier between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur.

Batik Air, formerly known as Malindo Air, inaugurated the service in November 2023, offering four weekly flights between Dubai and the Malaysian capital. This marks the airline’s second route in the Middle East this year, following the launch of flights between Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Kuala Lumpur in August.

“Dnata Travel Services” will act as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for the Malaysian carrier in the United Arab Emirates. They will provide a complete range of local travel services and infrastructure to support sales, marketing, and distribution.

Batik Air is offering attractive prices for travelers from the UAE, starting from AED 1,299 for economy class and AED 3,499 for business class.

Simon Woodward, Deputy Head of Dnata Travel Services for Global Airline Services, stated, “The reopening of Asian destinations has generated a growing demand for travel, with more people seeking to explore the natural landscapes and diverse cultures of the continent. In Malaysia, the city of Kuala Lumpur and its beautiful coasts, including Langkawi, are gaining increasing popularity. We are delighted to support Batik Air and provide more travel options between the UAE and Malaysia.”

Chandran Rama Muthy, Strategic Director of Batik Air, emphasized that Malaysia has rapidly become a vibrant destination, thanks to its natural beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality. He highlighted the increasing importance of commercial partnerships and cultural relationships, stating that with the direct flights from Dubai to Kuala Lumpur, travelers now have easier access and affordable prices to explore the country for either enjoyable family vacations or important business trips.

Batik Air’s flight OD714 departs from Dubai International Airport at 4:05 AM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 3:35 PM local time. The return flight, OD713, leaves Kuala Lumpur at 11:05 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, reaching Dubai International Airport at 2:25 AM.

The airline operates its Dubai-Kuala Lumpur route using a new Boeing 737-8 aircraft with 12 seats in business class and 150 seats in economy class. Meals and beverages are available for purchase on all Batik Air flights, which also offer a selected range of pre-order meals and additional baggage at discounted prices.
