Muscat International Airport has been ranked first globally in performance standards for the year 2023, according to the AirHelp company’s ranking of the world’s best airports based on performance standards in the specified period. Following in the global ranking, Guararapes-Gilberto Freyre International Airport in Brazil secured the second position, followed by Cape Town International Airport in South Africa. Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport in the federal capital of Brazil claimed the fourth spot, and Hamad International Airport in Qatar secured the fifth position worldwide. Osaka Itami International Airport in Japan ranked sixth, Belém/Val de Cans–Júlio Cezar Ribeiro International Airport in Brazil secured the seventh position, and Belo Horizonte International Airport in Brazil claimed the eighth spot.
