The conference and exhibition DUPHAT, currently in its second day, is addressing crucial topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and technological advancements in pharmacy, as well as medications for treating obesity. The event has attracted over 32,000 visitors and participants, featuring a rich scientific program with substantive discussions in the pharmaceutical sector. Additionally, several new pharmaceutical products have been unveiled during the conference.

DUPHAT 2024 boasts participation from approximately 95 countries, serving as a global annual event and a central destination for companies worldwide to enter regional markets. The event facilitates competition and collaboration among various pharmaceutical companies and agents. Participating countries, including Turkey, Poland, China, and India, showcased their pharmaceutical products, aiming to meet the increasing demand for distinguished healthcare services and various non-prescription drugs at reasonable prices in the region.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) leads in the Middle East and Africa in terms of innovative drugs with new active ingredients, rapid regulatory approval processes, and a strategic vision to enhance the country’s leadership in healthcare and pharmaceuticals. This achievement aligns with the “We Are the UAE 2031” vision, a new national plan driving the country’s developmental journey over the next 50 years.

The conference also addressed the role of AI and technological advancements in healthcare. Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at the Dubai Health Authority, discussed how these innovations shape medical practices and patient care, emphasizing safety gaps between branded and generic drugs. Ensuring access to new medications, cost affordability, and responsibility were highlighted as crucial aspects contributing to comprehensive healthcare solutions.

Launching new pharmaceutical products was a focal point of the exhibition, with over 1,300 companies and brands competing to set high standards in the industry. Turkish companies, in particular, emphasized the significance of their participation in DUPHAT, considering it a key gateway to introduce their products to the Middle East and Africa markets, where these products have gained increasing popularity over the years.

The conference continues to provide a platform for companies to showcase and launch their new products, contributing to the industry’s growth and emphasizing the rising importance of high-quality technologies.

DUPHAT 2024, organized by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding, is supported by the Dubai Health Authority and various international pharmaceutical associations. The event will conclude tomorrow, with participation from the European Federation for Clinical Pharmacy, the International Pharmaceutical Federation, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the Hospital Pharmacists Society of Australia, among others.
