Luxury hotel chains such as Marriott International and Six Senses continue to expand their offerings through new hotel complexes in the Middle East, enhancing Saudi Arabia’s position as an emerging and attractive high-quality tourist destination. Marriott International is opening its new luxury hotel, marking the 500th in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

These expansions aim to enhance the experiential tourism offering through cultural exploration. The hotel holding company, Six Senses, is constructing a complex in Wadi Safar, a major project for the Diriyah Gate Development Authority in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring a total of 80 rooms on top of the hill to provide guests with panoramic views of the valley.

All these new investments are part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Transformation Program – Vision Saudi Arabia 2030 – with the goal of developing and diversifying the country’s economic base by enhancing the status of Medina as a distinguished religious destination. In this regard, Vision Saudi Arabia 2030 includes, among other objectives, achieving 100 million annual visits by 2030, making tourism contribute 10% to the gross domestic product, and creating one million new jobs in the tourism sector.
