Data from the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai revealed that the total number of hotel nights spent by 15.37 million visitors in Dubai reached 38.01 million nights during the first 11 months of the previous year, with a growth rate of 20% in the number of visitors and 12% in the number of nights.

The data showed that the number of visitors to Dubai from January to the end of November 2023 exceeded pre-pandemic levels by a 2.4% increase, with the emirate welcoming 15 million visitors during the same period in 2019.

According to the data, the hotel capacity in the emirate reached 149,680 rooms of various categories within 820 hotels and hotel apartment establishments, with a 3% growth in the number of hotel rooms and 3% in the number of hotels compared to the same period in 2022. 5-star hotels accounted for 34% of the total number of rooms, with 51,400 rooms in 156 hotels. The number of 4-star hotels reached 190, with 42,600 hotel rooms, while the number of 3-star hotels reached 278, with approximately 29,250 hotel rooms. Additionally, there were 111 medium-sized hotel apartment establishments with 12,570 apartments, and 85 luxury hotel apartment establishments with 13,710 apartments.

According to the data, the average revenue per hotel room was AED 394, while the average price reached AED 510.

During the first 11 months of the previous year, the average hotel and hotel apartment occupancy rate reached 77%, compared to 73% during the same period in 2022. Medium-sized hotel apartments recorded the highest occupancy rate at 82%, followed by luxury apartments at 80%, 4-star hotels at 78%, and small to medium-sized 1 to 3-star hotels at 77%. 5-star hotels achieved an occupancy rate of 75%.
