As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance artistic and theatrical culture in the region, and within its free program of theater events, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, in collaboration with Dubai National Theatre, announces the organization of a series of specialized training courses in the art of theatrical performance.
Scheduled throughout the months of January, February, and March 2024, these workshops encompass a variety of artistic sessions aimed at developing participants’ skills in various aspects of the theatrical arts.
The first series of the training program begins with the course “Theatrical Performance Experiences” supervised by trainer Intisar Issa, starting next Tuesday, January 23, and continuing until Thursday, January 25. The course focuses specifically on the theatrical actor’s performance, emphasizing the importance of experimentation and dynamic interaction on the stage.
Participants will have a unique opportunity to acquire advanced artistic skills and perform creative works presented to the audience or within small groups. This contributes to enhancing their skills and expressive, creative, and communicative abilities in the field of theatrical acting.
On February 13 and 14, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library will host a course on “Reading Theatrical Texts” supervised by trainer Omar Ghabash. Participants will be able to read the theatrical text, imagine the characters, or assume the role of the director through a theoretical and practical experience of integrating the theatrical artist into the time, place, and characters of the theatrical work.
In the third installment of the theatrical performance workshops on March 23, the library will host a workshop on “Theatrical Improvisation” supervised by artist Maher Suleibi.
