The Executive Committee of Beach Soccer Worldwide announced the organization of the Best of the Game Awards ceremony worldwide in Dubai on February 12, 2023, just before the start of the Beach Soccer World Cup “UAE 2024”.
The UAE will host the tournament for the second time in its history from February 15 to 25, 2024, in Dubai with the participation of 16 teams. The UAE national team will compete in Group A with teams from Egypt, the United States, and Italy.
The committee selected three international tournaments held in 2023 to determine the best among them. These tournaments include the European Beach Soccer League held in Sardinia, Italy, where Italy won the title. Also, the “Mundialito” championship in Spain, where the Spanish women’s team and the Brazilian men’s team claimed victory. Lastly, the “NEOM” Championship in Saudi Arabia in October, where both the Spanish women’s team and the Brazilian men’s team were crowned champions.
FIFA’s Beach Soccer Committee had previously announced the shortlists for the best male and female players, goalkeepers, and coaches in the world during 2023. Three Emirati players were among the nominees: Hamid Jamal, the goalkeeper of the UAE national team, Walid Beshir, and Walid Al-Muhamedi (captain of the national team). Additionally, Brazilian Victor Vazquez, the coach of the UAE national team, was nominated for the Best Coach award.
