Hotels in Dubai lead globally in occupancy rates

According to data from the specialized research and consultancy firm “STR,” Dubai topped the global cities in hotel occupancy during the period from January 14 to 20, supported by a surge in demand for entertainment tourism.

According to the firm’s data, the average hotel occupancy in the emirate reached 82.9%, with a peak in room demand during the entertainment events and artistic concerts season.

The data indicated that the average hotel room price in Dubai was $193 (708.3 dirhams), marking a 4.5% increase on an annual basis.

The data showed that Beijing came in second in terms of occupancy rates, followed by Sydney in third place, then Paris in fourth place, followed by London in fifth place. Tokyo, Toronto, Madrid, Berlin, Buenos Aires, and Rome followed consecutively.

Several global specialized reports have revealed that the tourism sector in Dubai continues its recovery, surpassing its usual performance levels before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, supported by entertainment, marketing, and exhibition events.
