The UAE ranked first regionally and 5th globally in the list of the top 10 countries in the world in air connectivity in terms of the size of scheduled seat capacity on international flights departing during the first half of this year.
Data from Mabrian, a company specialized in tourism information, revealed that the total volume of scheduled seat capacity on flights departing from UAE airports reached 41.8 million seats, a growth of 12.24% compared to the first half of 2023.
The data showed that «Emirates Airlines» and «Etihad Airways» played a major role in the growth of the size of seat capacity, which was reflected in strengthening the position of Dubai and Abu Dhabi as global aviation hubs.
According to the data, the UAE outperformed France, Italy, China, Turkey and Japan in the world rankings, and came after the United States, which topped the list in terms of the size of scheduled seat capacity with about 83.5 million seats, followed by the United Kingdom with 72.8 million seats, Germany with 53.7 million seats, and Spain with 53.4 million scheduled seats, respectively.
