The “Global Travel Week – Middle East” organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism concluded last Tuesday, with the participation of more than 180 companies from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.

The event aimed to enhance partnerships and communication between global luxury travel companies and their counterparts in Oman, including hotels and providers of tourism experiences. The focus was on utilizing innovative communication methods to develop relationships and exchange experiences in the tourism sector.

The ministry hosted the third edition to provide an opportunity for companies to meet with their counterparts from other countries specializing in adventure, luxury, and conference tourism. Additionally, it organized familiarization trips for companies to visit tourist sites in Muscat and other provinces to gain a deeper understanding of the attractions, unique tourism experiences, accommodations, and visit top hotels in various provinces. This comprehensive view will later contribute to the better promotion of these tourism companies for Oman.

It’s worth mentioning that 14 tourism companies were selected to conduct exploratory trips in Dhofar Governorate, where they visited various heritage and tourist sites to learn about Oman’s heritage and history. The first day included visits to Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Salalah, Al Hafa Souq, Al Baleed Archaeological Park, and the Land of Frankincense Museum. The second day featured a tour to Jebel Samhan, the highest peak in Dhofar overlooking the Arabian Sea, followed by visits to Wadi Darbat and Samharam Archaeological Park. The trip concluded with a visit to Taqah Castle, Taqah city, and Kufan Heritage Inn as the final stop.
