The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information is organizing a Tourism Communication Conference the day after tomorrow, Tuesday, to explore successful tourism experiences in the Gulf region and engage with local specialized entities. Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism at the Ministry of Information, Osama Al-Mukhayel, stated in a media statement that the one-day conference would be attended by Gulf officials, and Basmah Al-Maiman, the Regional Director for the Middle East at the World Tourism Organization.
Al-Mukhayel added that the conference, which also involves participation from academics, specialists, private sector officials, and civil society institutions interested in the tourism and economic aspects, will discuss key topics within a scientific framework. He noted that the conference would examine how to establish the right foundations to enhance the tourism sector in alignment with Kuwait’s conditions by discussing similar experiences in the region. Additionally, it will present ideas to attract investors from both domestic and international markets to invest in Kuwait’s available natural and human resources. The conference’s working sessions will cover important topics such as Gulf tourism experiences, enabling tourism, vision, and the future, as well as tourism and civil society.
Al-Mukhayel emphasized that the tourism sector is no longer just a luxury or entertainment but a significant economic industry for any country. He added that properly investing and utilizing available resources in the country in line with tourism requirements will yield positive results, as witnessed in the experiences of Gulf countries.
