Culture Summit Abu Dhabi concludes with emphasis on the role of arts in the harmony of civilizations

The Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit concluded its sixth edition with broad participation from global thought leaders representing 90 countries. On its third and final day, the summit discussed how time can be a space for bringing people together and reconciling human and natural elements, under the theme “A Matter of Time.”

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, delivered a keynote address during the summit, emphasizing the importance of culture in promoting values of respect, dialogue, understanding, and openness to others. He highlighted the need to enhance our local culture and introduce it to build bridges of communication with cultures from around the world.

He stated, “The Cultural Summit continues its annual approach in attracting prominent speakers from leaders in thought, art, media, technology, and guests from all over the world, and it enjoys the support of several important international cultural entities.”

Adding, “Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the State, may God protect him, Abu Dhabi, in particular, and the UAE in general, are keen to share their cultural achievements with the world.”

He further mentioned, “I am firmly convinced that culture and art are essential factors in enhancing values of respect, understanding, dialogue, and appreciation for other cultures. They contribute to building and supporting vital communication bridges between countries and peoples worldwide. As part of our efforts to achieve this goal, we believe that citizens of the country have a special responsibility to know their culture and be familiar with it so that they can convey it to others, understanding well the impact of culture on empowering youth, women, and all other segments of society.
