Emirates successfully concluded its participation in the ITB Berlin International Tourism Fair 2024. The airline’s pavilion at the fair received over 6,000 visitors who explored its latest products, services, and initiatives.

During the three-day event, Emirates officials held 260 meetings with partners from the tourism and travel industry and media. The airline also sealed eight deals and cooperation agreements with cruise operators, tourism boards, and airlines from various parts of Europe. Emirates utilized its return to the fair to showcase its latest distinguished products for the first time in Germany.

Emirates signed cooperation agreements with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO), and the Irish Tourism Board. Aligning with Emirates’ continuous efforts to expand its network in Europe, the airline signed memoranda of understanding with Italian carrier ITA Airways, Icelandair, and GO 7. Emirates also renewed its partnerships with TUI Cruises and AIDA Cruises, contributing to the growth of the burgeoning maritime tourism sector in Dubai in the coming seasons.

Ramadan Preparations:

Emirates has completed all preparations to provide special services to its customers during the holy month of Ramadan. The airline will offer thousands of Iftar meal boxes for fasting passengers on board and at boarding gates. Traditional Ramadan dishes will be served in lounges, and religious content, programs, and Ramadan series will be enhanced on the in-flight entertainment system, ice.

In its lounges at Dubai International Airport, Emirates will provide traditional Arabic sweets, dates, and coffee during Ramadan. Ramadan meals will be available in First and Business Class lounges, featuring a selection of hot and cold Arabic appetizers, lentil soup, and main dishes such as mixed Arabic grills with tahini. Desserts will include kunafa with pistachio cream, saffron basbousa, qatayef with cream and walnuts, and Arabic coffee and date-flavored ice cream or baklava. Emirates lounges also include prayer rooms and ablution facilities.

Emirates will distribute boxes containing water, milk, bananas, and dates to fasting passengers traveling to specific destinations at the boarding gates during Iftar times. The airline uses a unique tool to calculate Imsak and Iftar times during the flight, based on sunrise and sunset times at the aircraft’s location using longitude, latitude, and altitude. The captain announces these times to passengers.

Starting March 11, customers in all classes on selected flights will receive nutritionally balanced Ramadan meals. These meals will be presented in specially designed boxes by Emirates, reflecting the rich Emirati heritage of Sadu weavers.

Ramadan boxes will be provided on flights serving Umrah pilgrims to Jeddah and Medina during Ramadan. Each returning pilgrim from Saudi airports can carry one 5-liter bottle of Zamzam water.
