Officials from hotel groups stated that the hospitality sector in Dubai continues its strong and record-breaking performance across various indicators, amidst high demand for tourism in Dubai and an increase in the flow of international visitors. They pointed out that hotel booking rates during Ramadan are at strong and unprecedented levels.
They anticipated to Al-Emarat Al-Youm that hotel revenues during Ramadan would be at levels similar to regular months and peak times, indicating the strength and volume of tourism demand in the emirate. They also expected high occupancy rates reaching up to 80% during Ramadan, driven by business and leisure tourism.
They affirmed that Dubai is a year-round tourist destination and holds a prominent position on the international tourism map, attracting visitors from various markets around the world.
The Regional Director of the “Haya Hotels” group in Dubai, General Manager of the Grand Haya Hotel, Fathi Khogali, stated, “The hotel market in Dubai continues its strong and record-breaking performance across various indicators, amidst high demand for tourism in Dubai.”
He added, “For the first time in 40 years, we find that hotel demand levels during Ramadan are the same as in regular months during tourist seasons,” noting that this is a clear indicator of the strength of tourism demand in Dubai.
Khogali emphasized that “hotel room booking levels recorded during Ramadan are at unprecedented levels,” pointing out that “room demand during this month is usually within known rates for the hospitality sector, as most hotel revenues come from food services. However, this year’s situation is completely different.”
He said, “Hotel revenues during Ramadan are expected to be at levels similar to regular months and peak times, indicating the strength and volume of tourism demand in the emirate.”
He affirmed that “Dubai continues to enhance its attractiveness to various visitor segments and markets worldwide as one of the top destinations in the world and the most sought after,” adding that “tourism flow levels to the emirate remain strong throughout the year.”
In turn, the President of the InterContinental Hotels Group in the Middle East, Africa, and India, Haitham Matar, stated, “InterContinental hotels and resorts are witnessing high demand, and we expect strong occupancy rates in Dubai during Ramadan.”
He added, “Due to the popularity of the winter season among tourists visiting Dubai, we expect to witness high occupancy levels exceeding 70% during the month, driven by business and leisure tourism,” noting that “booking levels during Ramadan are 20% higher compared to the same month last year.
