China Southern Airlines will continue to strengthen its presence in the Middle East during the 2024 summer season with the launch of a second route to Saudi Arabia

Ahead of the launch of its first “non-stop” flight to the kingdom from April 16 with a service connecting Beijing Daxing and Riyadh, the airline has submitted plans for a second route to the kingdom from Shenzhen, starting in June.

From June 3, China Southern will commence flights from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport to Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, where it will operate twice a week using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The airline will be the sole operator of a 4,199-mile route, according to OAG schedules analyst data.

China Southern Airlines – along with its Chinese counterparts Air China, China Eastern, and Xiamen – has provided limited-time flights to Saudi Arabia in the past to meet religious travel needs, but the two new scheduled routes to Riyadh will be its first scheduled services to Saudi Arabia.
