British Airways has announced the resumption of its daily flights to Abu Dhabi today, after a four-year hiatus.
According to official reports monitored by Wego, flights are scheduled to commence on April 20, 2024, thus establishing year-round connectivity between London Heathrow and the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The airline will use a Boeing 787-9 aircraft in the summer of 2024 to enhance connectivity with the United Arab Emirates. This move complements British Airways’ current flights to Dubai from Heathrow Airport, which currently operates up to three flights daily.
Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Director of Networks and Alliances, expressed his excitement about returning to Abu Dhabi, saying: “Abu Dhabi is a uniquely appealing destination to reintroduce to our network. With a mix of beach, city, and desert, it has everything our customers seek in a Middle Eastern journey, and we look forward to welcoming them back on board as we grow our footprint in the United Arab Emirates.”
Additionally, Emirati travelers benefit from the Electronic Travel Authorization system when visiting the United Kingdom. This initiative aims to streamline the travel process to the UK, making it more convenient for travelers from the United Arab Emirates.
