Demand for global air services exceeds pre-pandemic levels for the first time

Total global travel demand in February 2024 increased by 21.5% compared to the same period last year, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

For the first time, demand for global services exceeded pre-pandemic levels, recording an increase of 0.9% compared to February 2019.

The report data showed that total capacity measured in available seats per kilometre increased by 18.7% year-on-year. The load factor for February stood at 80.6%, recording an increase of 1.9 percentage points compared to February 2023.
