Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Ruler of Dubai, has approved the designs of the new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport, at a cost of AED 128 billion, as part of the Dubai Aviation Corporation’s strategy.
His Highness stressed that Al Maktoum International Airport will be the largest in the world with a final capacity of 260 million passengers. It will be 5 times the current Dubai International Airport. All DXB’s operations will be moved to Dubai International in the coming years.
The airport will feature 400 aircraft gates and 5 parallel runways, and will use new technologies for the first time in the aviation sector.
