Billionaire Elon Musk and Indonesian Health Minister Budi Jonadi Sadiq on Sunday launched SpaceX’s Starlink internet service in Indonesia’s health sector, as the world’s largest archipelago seeks to boost connectivity to the country’s remote provinces.

The American billionaire said the availability of Starlink in Indonesia would help millions in remote parts of the country connect to the Internet, adding: “I am very excited to provide connectivity to places where connectivity is limited. Whoever can connect to the internet, can learn anything.”

Starlink launched at three Indonesian health centres today, two in Bali and the third on the remote island of Aru in Maluku.

Indonesia has a population of more than 270 million and has three different time zones.
