The Shindagha Museum, the largest heritage museum in the UAE, is preparing to play a pivotal role in Dubai’s preparations to host the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 2025, marking the first time this event will be held in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia region.

The Shindagha Museum is a prominent destination in Dubai, thanks to its unique narratives and exceptional pathways that take visitors on an enjoyable journey through 22 pavilions spread across more than 80 houses that embrace the history and culture of the UAE.

The museum offers visitors a diverse array of exhibitions and archival materials curated in collaboration with over 100 individuals from the community, demonstrating people’s commitment to preserving their shared heritage and showcasing their historical treasures within the museum’s walls.

The “Dubai Creek: Birth of a City” pavilion provides visitors with an immersive audiovisual journey narrating the emirate’s evolution. Additionally, the “House of Perfumes” adds much to this sensory interactive experience by allowing visitors to explore Dubai’s historical roots in perfumery and learn about traditional methods of producing aromatic oils and perfumes that date back several decades.
