The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully secured its place on the regional and global tourism map due to its captivating tourist destinations and innovative ideas that attract visitors to the country’s abundant natural treasures.
The UAE places significant importance on agricultural tourism, highlighting its local farms and the country’s thriving and advanced agricultural landscape. Private farms showcase diverse plant and animal species, contributing to sustainability and wildlife protection.
As part of its commitment to promoting environmental tourism sectors, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment launched the agricultural tourism axis within the National Environmental Tourism Project in 2019 under the slogan “Nature’s Treasures in the UAE.”
This project emphasizes local farmers’ creativity, practices, and experiences, showcasing traditional and modern farming techniques. Visitors can enjoy recreational activities on various plant and animal farms, with the opportunity to purchase high-quality products directly from the source at reasonable prices.
The “Our Green Tourism” initiative within the sustainability campaign aims to promote positive environmental behaviors, raise awareness of sustainability issues, and encourage community participation. Agricultural tourism enriches the National Environmental Tourism Project, enhancing the country’s global position by highlighting its environmental and agricultural landmarks, fostering legislative and legal systems, and supporting initiatives and programs for their protection, development, and sustainability.
Agricultural tourism aims to connect the public with nature, raise awareness of farming practices, and encourage farmers to expand their activities, creating additional income. The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment seeks to revive sustainable practices and promote various types of environmental tourism, including direct shopping, experiential and educational tourism, as well as recreational and entertainment-oriented agricultural tourism.
