Hussein Al-Ketbi was hosted by the Majlis of His Excellency Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, in an event on Wednesday evening. This event was part of the inaugural sessions of a forum organized by the council, aimed at bringing together creators, thinkers, writers, and artists. Al-Ketbi spoke about his experience in establishing his personal museum named “1185” at his residence in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.
During his lecture held in a Ramadan setting, which blended culture with art and was attended by a distinguished audience of intellectuals and artists, Al-Ketbi expressed that the museum reflects his pride and honor in belonging to the armed forces. The number “1185” represents his first military number after graduating from Zayed Military College in 1977.
Al-Ketbi emphasized that the “1185” museum narrates the historical journey of the UAE and its pioneering achievements achieved through investing in human capital, which has been a priority guided by the wise leadership. This approach follows the vision of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who believed that human empowerment is essential for nation-building and societal development.
The idea behind establishing the museum stems from Al-Ketbi’s deep conviction about the importance of recounting the achievements and journey of the UAE through the experience of one of its sons. He noted that the museum’s collections reflect how the UAE invests in its people and their successes, highlighting the success of the investment approach in human development, a cornerstone of the thought of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The lecture, which marked the beginning of a new season of lectures hosted by the council, provided an opportunity for attendees to engage in discussions with Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi on regional and international issues, as well as the UAE’s successes in achieving stability in the region.
At the end of the lecture, His Excellency Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi presented a copy of his new publication, “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan… Illuminations in the Journey of a Humanitarian Leader,” to Dr. Obaid Al-Hairi Salem Al-Ketbi, who praised the book and the journey and achievements of His Highness the President of the State, wishing him continued success. Al-Suwaidi aimed to narrate a great history embodied by a great personality, His Highness the President of the State.
