Abu Dhabi Ports Group welcomed the cruise ship “Crystal Symphony” to Zayed Port, marking the beginning of the 2023-2024 marine tourism season.
The marine tourism sector in Abu Dhabi is expected to witness a prosperous season starting in November, with positive indicators suggesting that Abu Dhabi Port is set to receive 126 cruise ship calls, and Sir Bani Yas Beach will host 63 cruise ships after having already welcomed the first ship of the season on October 31, 2023.
It is worth noting that nine of these ships have chosen Abu Dhabi as their first destination for this season.
Noura Rashid Al Dhaheri, CEO of Cruise Business at Abu Dhabi Ports Group, said, “We are pleased to announce the official opening of the marine tourism season in Abu Dhabi with the arrival of the Crystal Symphony ship. Last season, Zayed Port emerged as one of the busiest cruise ports in the region, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading global tourist destination, thanks to its exceptional infrastructure that ensures the smooth arrival of the largest ships in the region. We will continue to strengthen our partnerships with international cruise companies as part of our ongoing efforts to elevate Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading global cruise destination.”
In line with the group’s commitment to enriching Abu Dhabi’s tourism agenda, Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal is preparing to host more than 7,000 visitors during the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 race, ensuring that the highest global hospitality standards are provided to them.
It’s worth mentioning that the Cruise Business Division, a subsidiary of the Ports Sector within the group, expanded its operations to the Red Sea with the opening of the Aqaba Cruise Terminal in January 2023.
