Iran on Wednesday revoked visas for citizens of 33 countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Ezzatollah Derghami told Mehr news agency.
The agency pointed out that among the countries included in the resolution also besides Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Mauritania, Lebanon, Russia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Brazil.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was in Riyadh last August for his first official visit in 10 years, aimed at “consolidating the economic element in bilateral relations.”
Iran’s ambassador to the Kingdom, Ali Enati, said in previous statements that Tehran seeks to “consolidate the economic element in bilateral relations,” as it hopes to raise the level of trade exchange to levels higher than it is now.
