Dubai International Airport (DXB) has removed its American counterpart, Hartsfield, Atlanta, from the top of the world’s largest airport in the index of total seat capacity on both international and domestic flights, for the first time, recording more than five million scheduled seats on departures in January (10 million seats in both directions), according to the monthly report issued by OAG, an international provider of airport and airline data.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the world’s leading airport in international flight capacity, but it now tops the overall index of flight traffic (international and domestic), with air traffic at Dubai International limited to international travel in first class, indicating the tremendous growth that the airport continues to record as the largest transport hub in the world.
