The Municipal Council of Dhofar Governorate organized an introductory meeting at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah two days ago with a number of government and private institutions to review their plans for the current year and what was accomplished in the previous year, under the patronage of His Excellency Marwan bin Turki Al Said, the Governor of Dhofar.

The Dhofar Municipality presented a visual presentation about its preparations to welcome the Dhofar Autumn Season 2024, highlighting the main event venues, updates included in the season’s schedule, and the municipality’s efforts in preparing for the Dhofar Autumn Season in coordination and cooperation with relevant authorities.

Additionally, the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion gave a visual presentation during the meeting on plans to enhance the investment climate in the governorate and efforts made in investment promotion and diversifying sources of income within the framework of the national program for investment and export development.

The meeting also reviewed the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning’s plans for future projects within the national plan for real estate development and the master plan for the Greater Salalah City. Furthermore, the Directorate General of Roads and Land Transport in the governorate presented plans for the development, maintenance, and implementation of the road network in the governorate.

The Directorate General of Agriculture and Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources reviewed plans for the management and development of fisheries wealth to enhance food security, increase productivity efficiency, and develop fishing ports in the governorate.

Moreover, the Development Office of Al Najd Region presented future development plans for the agricultural area of Al Najd, aiming to reduce the food security gap, increase income at the national level, support farmers, and activate partnership between the public and private sectors to establish investment projects.

These meetings are held based on the principle of partnership and coordination between the municipal council and government agencies, emphasizing the importance of municipal councils. Additionally, they aim to inform municipal council members about the key achievements and targets achieved during 2023 and the executive plan for 2024.
