This outstanding performance marks a historic achievement, recording the fastest recovery for a major airport globally, solidifying Dubai’s position as a leading global hub in the travel and tourism sector. Dubai International Airport further cements its role as a primary hub for international passenger movement.
On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, emphasized that the number of passengers through Dubai International Airport last year is a clear testament to the continued success in realizing the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, by translating his directives into further growth opportunities across various economic sectors, with aviation being a crucial component due to its direct impact on connecting the world and facilitating the movement of individuals and goods.
He commended the significant efforts behind this new achievement, led by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized Dubai’s active role in enhancing travel and aviation capabilities globally, redefining quality standards in this vital sector.
