Dubai has won the hosting and organization rights for the Global Cultural Cities Forum 2024, which will be held for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa from October 30 to November 1, 2024.

The Global Forum is part of the “Global Cultural Cities Forum Network,” considered the most important international network for policy development in the fields of art and culture. The network focuses on the role of culture in cities and the establishment of sustainable urban centers. It includes more than 40 cities worldwide where culture is a key driver in their social and economic development. The Global Cultural Cities Forum highlights creative cities that harness their potential to invest in the cultural and creative sector.

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and member of the Dubai Council, emphasized that hosting this event cements Dubai’s position as a global cultural destination. It enables Dubai to continue its efforts in building a sustainable creative economy based on knowledge and innovation. She stated that hosting the Global Cultural Cities Forum in 2024 aligns with the ambitious visions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, aiming to make Dubai a global center for culture and a hub for creativity.

Hala Badri, Director-General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), pointed out that hosting the Global Cultural Cities Forum in Dubai allows the establishment and building of a global network and the creation of new cultural partnerships that enhance Dubai’s leadership and global status. It also contributes to creating new opportunities for creatives and talented individuals to connect with international networks.
