“Skyscanner” published on Tuesday the “Horizon” report, which highlights deep insights, reservations, destination choices, and popular destinations in Europe, Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and Africa.

The analysis relies on deep travel data from “Skyscanner” and compares traveler behavior and search trends on an annual basis.

According to the report, travelers are planning their trips in advance more compared to last year, indicating the return of traditional travel seasons in 2024.

Travelers in Europe, Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and Africa show great confidence with an increase in the number of pre-booked trips, a larger share of advance bookings, made 60 to 89 days before the date, and perhaps even more than 90 days.

53% of travelers from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa choose to explore destinations in Europe, representing a 4% increase from the previous year.

The 2024 Travel Trends report from “Skyscanner” indicates an increased demand from travelers from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia for cultural exploration experiences, especially in many European capitals that offer diversity in these experiences.

Italy is one of the most attractive holiday destinations with its famous landmarks and irresistible cuisine, and it has been on the list of the most popular destinations in Saudi Arabia for three consecutive times.

Destinations in Spain and Greece are among the most popular destinations searched for on “Skyscanner”, with the average length of trips slightly decreasing or remaining stable annually in many famous destinations. However, destinations known for long-haul trips such as Bangkok and the cities of New York and Sydney remain popular.
