His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the Blue Line project of the Dubai Metro on Friday. The Blue Line spans 30 km and includes 14 stations serving nine areas with a population estimated to be over one million, aligning with Dubai’s Urban Plan 2040.
His Highness tweeted, “Witnessed the inauguration of the 30 km Blue Line of the Dubai Metro, with 14 stations serving 9 areas with a population estimated at over one million according to Dubai’s Urban Plan 2040. It will be launched on 9/9/2029. The overall benefits of the project are expected to exceed AED 56.5 billion by 2040, supporting Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 targets. The Dubai Metro is one of the giant developmental projects that has embodied, since its inception, the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make Dubai the most beautiful and best city on earth for living and life. Today, with its new route, it outlines the contours of its future.
