The Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, visited today a number of heritage and tourist sites and historical monuments in Dhofar Governorate

Al-Mahrouqi, accompanied by a number of specialists, followed up the work, implementation and development programs at the archaeological site of Al-Baleed, the waterfront in the Al-Haffa area, Mirbat Fort, the old market adjacent to the fort, the Darbat site and a number of facilities under implementation.

The field visit of the Minister of Heritage and Tourism comes to see the progress of work and discuss plans to prepare for the Dhofar autumn season 2024, and to direct the ministry’s efforts in promoting and developing aspects of integration in Dhofar Governorate.

The Minister of Heritage and Tourism visited the Frankincense Land Museum in Dhofar Governorate to follow up on plans to develop and modernize the museum’s display and to continue the restoration program and archaeological surveys at the archaeological site of Al Baleed. Al Mahrouqi also visited Burj Al-Askar in Taqa in Dhofar Governorate
