More than one million passengers used Dubai ports from 27 December to 1 January

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai announced that the total number of arriving and departing travelers through air, land, and sea ports during the period from December 27, 2023, to January 1, 2024, reached 1,239,628 individuals. On December 30, 2023, the highest number of travelers was recorded, with 224,380 passengers, reflecting Dubai’s status as a preferred destination for individuals from around the world.

Dubai’s airports and its land and sea ports received large numbers of travelers wishing to spend the New Year’s holiday in Dubai.

The passport officers at Dubai airports handled 1,136,144 arriving and departing passengers, while land ports received and bid farewell to 76,376 travelers. The sea ports witnessed the arrival and departure of 27,108 passengers, bringing the total number of arrivals through various ports to 693,018 travelers, compared to 546,610 departing passengers.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, the Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, emphasized that the record-breaking numbers achieved by Dubai’s airports and ports during this period reflect the city’s attractiveness and its position as a top destination for individuals worldwide. He expressed pride in Dubai’s capability and status, chosen by millions of people to celebrate the New Year, highlighting that Dubai’s residency, airports, and ports continue to provide exceptional experiences for visitors throughout the year.
