As part of its strategic plan, the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has supported five student research projects focusing on environmental sustainability, addressing Sustainable Development Goal 13 (climate action) and Sustainable Development Goal 7 (clean and affordable energy), in collaboration with Symbiosis International University in India.

Each research project includes two students and a faculty member as a supervisor from each university, with a total of six members for each project, where three projects were funded for the College of Engineering and two projects for the College of Information Technology

This research collaboration comes as part of the UAEU roadmap towards the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28 and beyond (2023-2026) and the 2024 Sustainability Year initiative.

Dr. Ahmed Ali Murad, Associate Provost for Scientific Research, stressed that these student projects come within the efforts of the International University in building strategic partnerships, which in turn contribute to enhancing the international reputation of the university.
