Ahmed Al-Khatib, the Saudi Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, participated in the Tourism Investment Conference on Sustainable Financing Opportunities under the theme “Effective Partnerships in Tourism Financing.” The conference took place on the sidelines of the 50th meeting of the UNWTO Regional Commission for the Middle East in the Omani capital, Muscat.
During his participation, Al-Khatib stated that Saudi Arabia will change the tourism map globally, and the opportunities and facilities offered to investors will make the tourism sector more attractive. He emphasized that attracting and training the national workforce are important factors in developing the tourism sector in the region. He affirmed that the Ministry of Tourism places great importance on qualifying national cadres in the sector and works on attracting Saudi youth to work in tourism.
During his dialogue session at the conference, Al-Khatib reiterated that Saudi Arabia is collaborating with member states in the Middle East region to develop the tourism sector, given its global significance. He noted that the region possesses all the requirements for successful investment in the tourism sector.
