Sharjah Heritage Days kicks off on 22 January

Dr. Abdulaziz Al Muslim, President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Sharjah Heritage Days, confirmed that the 21st edition of Sharjah Heritage Days will commence on February 22nd and run for 11 days until March 3rd. The event, held under the theme “Continuity,” will take place in 6 cities across the Emirate of Sharjah, with the participation of 12 Arab and foreign countries and 27 governmental entities.

The announcement came during a press conference held at the institute’s headquarters, attended by Moon Byung Jun, Consul General of the Republic of South Korea in Dubai, and Abubakr Al Kendi, General Coordinator of Sharjah Heritage Days, along with dignitaries, officials, and representatives of the media.

This edition coincides with the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, celebrating the authenticity and roots of the UAE heritage. We will return to the first spark and the pivotal moment of the inaugural edition of Sharjah Heritage Days 22 years ago, simulating the approach, style, and depth based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.”

He emphasized the efforts of the institute in instilling values, raising awareness about heritage importance, fostering intergenerational and intercultural communication, and celebrating the rich treasures and symbols of heritage. The annual tradition aims to reconnect with the essence of heritage and is eagerly anticipated by heritage enthusiasts and preservation advocates.
