Gulf countries have become significant players in the healthcare sector, thanks to the advancement of their healthcare infrastructure.
The confidence of their citizens in their healthcare sectors has increased, especially after their competence was proven during the COVID-19 pandemic when traveling abroad for treatment became difficult. Additionally, thousands of people from Asian and African countries are showing increased interest in obtaining medical services in Gulf cities, especially Dubai, which received over 600,000 medical tourists in 2022 alone.
The numbers indicate a projected 10% growth in the Gulf countries’ share of the global medical tourism map by 2030.
