Dubai College of Tourism, part of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, in collaboration with LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, organized an introductory workshop for young and ambitious Emiratis titled “In the Hospitality of LinkedIn.” The workshop was held at the LinkedIn headquarters in Dubai and included various meetings with the LinkedIn team, along with panel discussions with human resources experts from the private sector to understand the job market requirements and provide advice on building a professional identity, conducting interviews, and taking practical steps to broaden horizons.

The introductory workshop served as an opportunity for participants to get a close look at the working environment and values at LinkedIn, as well as the job responsibilities of the team.

Participating in the workshop were students and job seekers, organized with the aim of reaching as many interested participants as possible in developing professional identity-building skills on the LinkedIn network. The workshop reviewed the best practices provided by the network in this field.

Maryam Al Muhaini, Vice President at Dubai College of Tourism, expressed satisfaction with the increasing awareness among young national talents, emphasizing the importance of recognizing real opportunities offered by private sector companies. She stated, “In the Department of Nationalization at Dubai College of Tourism, we collaborate with our partners in the private sector to support investment in human resources and develop the skills of young people to face future challenges and keep pace with technological advancements, encouraging them to enhance their digital capabilities. Certainly, being on a significant platform like LinkedIn will provide participants with a great opportunity to exchange knowledge in the technical field and various business sectors.”

Sareen Srouji, Director of Government Partnerships at LinkedIn, highlighted their efforts to spread more knowledge and awareness among young Emirati job seekers about the nature and dynamics of the private sector. She emphasized the importance of building a wide professional network through LinkedIn to expand the participants’ understanding of market requirements, various work environments, and the skills necessary for excellence and development.
