The South Al Batinah Governorate announced the assignment of the project to develop the waterfront in the Wilayat of Al Masna’ah in the Al Awa’id area, which extends for two kilometers.
The project includes a range of modern ideas aimed at attracting residents and tourists, while providing services that meet the needs of all members of the community.
The project also includes providing diverse services such as restaurants, shops, areas dedicated to children’s play, open and closed sports halls, beach games, water sports, pedestrian walkways, areas for cycling, and amusement parks.
The South Al Batinah Governorate explained that the project will start with the construction of 3-meter-wide walkways with areas for renting and selling bicycles, open children’s play areas, open sports halls, pedestrian walkways, and various seating areas for visitors to the seaside promenade and cyclists.
The area includes seating and restaurants made from containers, an open area for celebrations, while other open areas include children’s play areas and an open sports hall alongside the walkways.
In the beach entertainment area, barbecue areas and relaxation lounges will be provided, in addition to water games and horse riding for further entertainment and leisure.
Engineer Masoud bin Said Al Hashmi, the governor of South Al Batinah, said that the waterfront project in the Al Awa’id area in the Wilayat of Al Masna’ah in the South Al Batinah Governorate is an important investment for the Wilayat of Al Masna’ah and the governorate as a whole. It aims to enhance social and cultural life, attract residents and tourists, and build a sustainable and integrated urban environment. This project comes with modern ideas to attract residents and tourists, serving individuals of all ages.
He added that these projects continue the approach of the South Al Batinah Governorate in developing public facilities, aiming to create entertainment and tourist destinations that support comprehensive economic diversification and development plans, in line with the vision of “Oman 2040.
