The tourism sector constitutes one of the pillars of the national economy for the country. This has led to continuous efforts to enhance this vital sector, develop its infrastructure, and encourage investment to establish the country as a regional and international tourist attraction.
In this context, the fourth edition of the “Most Beautiful Winter in the World” campaign was launched, with the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain actively participating to highlight its key tourist attractions. The campaign aimed to showcase the diverse tourist attractions, offering everyone the opportunity to enjoy the available amenities and facilities.
Umm Al Quwain boasts an attractive tourism environment and seeks, through the implementation of quality projects, to become a tourist hub. The Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain, through a comprehensive system for the development of eco-tourism, is committed to achieving advanced levels of environmental conservation and sustainability. This includes the development of beaches, reserves, and the activation of marine activities that allow visitors to enjoy the breathtaking nature.
The department highlighted the Umm Al Quwain Mangrove Reserve, which serves as a sanctuary for birds and a variety of marine creatures in the emirate. It provides an opportunity for relaxation and nature enthusiasts to escape the city’s hustle and bustle to the mangrove beach, where they can enjoy the view of the mangrove forests and the wonderful wildlife, including turtles, the Socotra Cormorant, and other natural species.
The recently opened “Casa Micoco” chalets project in the reserve is noted as one of the prominent tourism projects reflecting the department’s efforts to promote eco-tourism. Additionally, the Sailing Center provides enthusiasts and lovers of water sports the opportunity to experience surfing on the beach, supporting adventure tourism in the region.
