The Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority is showcasing the environmental tourist destinations in the Emirate during its participation in the World Travel Market in the British capital, London, which is scheduled from November 6 to 8.

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority, explained that the authority’s participation in this important event will focus on introducing the attractive tourist destinations in the Emirate of Sharjah and highlighting the elements that ensure an exceptional and distinctive tourism experience for those who wish to visit the Emirate. This is especially significant considering the variety of options in the tourist and environmental areas, including wilderness, mountainous, coastal, marine, historical, and natural reserves.

She noted that the authority has allocated a special booth to introduce the “Sharjah Safari” project, which is the largest of its kind outside the African continent and houses more than 50,000 animals, including birds, reptiles, and other animals in 12 different environments that reflect the natural life and stunning landscapes in Africa.

The “Sharjah Safari” project has succeeded in establishing the Emirate’s position on the global environmental tourism map, under the continuous guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, who closely oversees the project’s development as one of the major environmental achievements in the Emirate. It enhances its various facilities and enriches it with more animals and birds to cater to nature and environmental tourism enthusiasts, ultimately promoting the concepts of wildlife conservation, environmental diversity, and sustainable environmental tourism.
