Emirates Airlines announced today, at the Dubai Airshow, the purchase of an additional 15 A350-900 aircraft, valued at 6 billion dollars. This brings the total orders for the carrier’s A350 fleet to 65 aircraft.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, stated, “The A350-900 aircraft will provide our fleet with more options in terms of capacity and range. We are pleased to announce an additional order for these aircraft, and we plan to deploy our A350s to serve a variety of new markets, including long-haul missions of up to 15 hours of flying from Dubai. We will work closely with Airbus and Rolls-Royce to ensure the best operational efficiency for our aircraft and the best flying experience for our customers.”
He added, “Our plans for all the Emirates orders, announced this week, are carefully designed to support our future growth and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai (may God protect him). Emirates is often the first experience for visitors to Dubai, and we want it to always be the best.”
