On the sidelines of its participation in the International Tourism Exchange in Berlin, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism organized a panel discussion titled “Business Environment and Opportunities in Oman’s Tourism Sector.” The event was attended by major German companies.
Azan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, stated that the panel focused on the tourism sector, emphasizing investment opportunities in technology, e-commerce, industry, and energy sectors.
He explained that the organization of the panel was done in partnership with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in coordination with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It involved broad participation from Omani companies as part of those participating in the Berlin Exchange Exhibition and others, along with their German counterparts.
He noted that the tourism sector is promising and has witnessed an increase in demand, especially after the sector fully recovered post-pandemic. The number of tourists visiting Oman has grown, and Oman is considered an attractive and stable investment environment for German companies seeking to expand in the Middle East.
Dr. Ilja Nothnagel, a member of the Board of Directors of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the panel, which brought together Omani and German tourism companies, aimed to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries in the tourism sector. It also aimed to introduce the German side to investment opportunities and tourist aspects in the Sultanate of Oman.
