Al-Khatib: We aim for the Kingdom to be among the top 10 countries in the world that attract tourists

Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khatib said that the Kingdom will launch a new program to attract and facilitate investments in the tourism sector, to be the most attractive among all countries of the world.

Al-Khatib added, during the Public Investment Fund and the Private Sector Forum, that today there are 280,000 hotel rooms in the Kingdom, and 250,000 rooms will be added until 2030 with the private sector, as the Kingdom aims to reach about 550,000 rooms.

He pointed out that the ministry achieved the 2030 goal, as the Kingdom exceeded 100 million tourists last year, including 27 million from abroad and 77 million from abroad.

The Minister of Tourism pointed out that the Kingdom is working on a strategy to achieve the new target of 150 million, including 70 million from abroad, to become among the top 10 countries in the world attracting tourists.

Al-Khatib announced that the Tourism Development Fund has financed more than 50 projects worth up to 35 billion riyals.
