Dubai ranked second globally among the most important tourist destinations for 2023, according to the Euromonitor International Index, based on the strong and advanced infrastructure, which made Dubai a key player in the highly competitive global travel scene.

Dubai surpassed many international cities such as the Spanish capital, Madrid, which ranked third, the Japanese capital Tokyo, which came fourth, the Dutch capital Amsterdam fifth, the German capital Berlin, the Italian capital Rome, and the American city of New York, while the French capital Paris ranked first.

The index revealed that Dubai is the second most advanced city in the world, based on 55 different metrics across the six main pillars, with Dubai unequivocally leading the ranking in the Middle East as the best performer.

The report confirmed that Dubai is one of the cities that exceeded the number of flights compared to 2019, as the city recorded an 18 per cent increase in the number of international flights.

The Euromonitor International Index of the Top 100 Tourist Destinations for 2023 relies on 55 different metrics across 6 main pillars of the city’s 100 destinations, to reach the city’s overall attractiveness, as the index addresses: economic and commercial performance, tourism performance, tourism infrastructure, tourism policy, attractiveness, health and safety, and sustainability.
