With the aim of promoting the environmental tourism assets of the country and positioning them on the global environmental tourism map, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment launched the National Environmental Tourism Project in 2018 under the name “Nature’s Treasures in the Emirates.” This initiative is part of a legislative and legal framework that ensures advanced levels of environmental conservation and sustainability of natural resources.

“Nature’s Treasures in the Emirates” successfully highlights the country’s efforts in protecting its rich biodiversity through the establishment of nature reserves. These reserves also contribute to promoting environmental tourism by providing a diverse range of informational materials, images, and related films.

The first phase of the project included the launch of a mini website, an e-book, and a smart application. All these tools provide tourists, specialists, and enthusiasts with a dynamic database that can be used to introduce the elements of environmental tourism in the country and incorporate them into tourism programs.

The subsequent phases of the “Nature’s Treasures in the Emirates” project will enable access to environmental tourism sites in marine areas, desert resorts, diving areas, and mountainous regions.
